Resident Evil: Retribution Trailer

Not sure if I like that the song is from Daft Punk’s Tron Legacy soundtrack, but this still looks cool!

I previously posted about a modified computer body that was made to look like a Tron Legacy lightcycle.  Now someone has posted images of their Tron PC Case/Desk that is simply amazing.  Check out the photos, a “light-up” video and for all the photos and details during the production, visit the forum! Bravo! Read more »

Tron Lightcycle Computer Body Modification

There it is.  A customized body for a computer that’s a newer-styled Tron Lightcycle.  Beautiful, isn’t it?  Boddaker, the creator, has shown his love for the TRON movies and build a PC based on the new Lightcycle design. It was a custom build which involved 3D computer design, laser cut acrylic, and more.  Check out the photos from the process, and see the entire forum posting with tons more photos and info.  Bravo! Tron Legacy Review on Howard Stern Show – Part 1

On Tuesday, April 12, I was listening to the Howard Stern Show on Sirius XM and Howard was talking about downloading and renting movies from iTunes. He mentioned that he had rented Tron Legacy.  He hadn’t seen it yet, but Robin Quivers put in her two cents – which was a positive review!  Listen…

Hopefully in the near future he’ll talk about what he thought and I’ll post that as well.  Enjoy it Howard, hope you like it!

Face Off Between Winklevoss Twins

I don’t normally watch the kinds of movies that win Oscars. No offense, but I have a problem with movies that are made just to appeal to organizations who give out awards, I feel that the movies should be made to entertain everyone. But primarily, my standards are lower (I guess) and I like Sci Fi, Special Effects, and raunchy Comedies!

Enter The Social Network. Normally this would fall under my “Oscar movie” category, but as a web designer and a huge supporter of Facebook, it was a must see. (It also came out on my birthday!) While the movie was amazing, captivating, and seemingly true, I felt like a had a closer connection as a programmer myself. What I did not realize was this movie had a very amazing, but overshadowed secret… The Winklevoss Twins were played by the same actor (sorta). Read more »

Mortal Kombat Legacy Web Series

Check out the brand new Mortal Kombat Legacy series exclusively online!

Last year, director Kevin Tancharoen created a short called Mortal Kombat Rebirth that showed a much more grittier, realistic, and violent version of the popular franchise.  Everyone online originally throught it was a trailer for a new movie, but as it turns out it was just a short made to impress and hopefully turn into a new movie.  It was impressive, but it’s been granted a Web Series (for now). Twitter Founder Biz Stone on Howard Stern Show

On Wednesday, March 30, 2011, Biz Stone was on The Howard Stern Show on Sirius XM Radio.  Biz is one of the co-founders of the 5-year old and hugely successful company Twitter.  He discussed how they invented Twitter, how they did not sell out to Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook, and since Twitter has been a big issue lately on the Howard Stern show and a lot of the employees are anxious to get their Twitter accounts “verified”, he granted verification to one of them (I won’t tell you, you’ll have to listen to find out who it was).

GB Firehouse part of Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit

At the Universal Studios Orlando Theme Park, they have a section that looks like famous New York buildings.  To my surprise (when I last visited it in 2001) there was a mockup of the Hook & Ladder 8 Firehouse used as the Ghostbusters headquarters!  This was probably because they had a Ghostbusters Spooktackular stage show, which ended in 1996.  Anyway, in my preparation for my upcoming trip this year, I was doing some research on what was new at the parks and to my amazement I saw that the Firehouse was still there!

It is now part of the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit Roller Coaster, which opened in 2009.  It seems that it was modified so the roller coaster track can travel right through the upper windows of the structure.

While it’s sad to see that it’s being re-used for something other than for the Ghostbusters, it’s good to know that it’s still there. Read more »

Ghostbusters at Cardboard Classic

The Preston & Steve Radio Show on WMMR in Philadelphia hosted another annual Cardboard Classic event where fans create sleds out of cardboard and run them down Jack Frost Mountain.  The sleds are great and really imaginative, even when they get totally destroyed.  In 2010, one of the winning sleds was a huge Stay Puft Marshmallow Man and this year there was another Ghostbusters entry, but it didn’t fair so well.  You can see it in the video below at the 5:00 minute mark.
